Photo-editing photos is very in because it can make pimples disappear, it can make you look slimmer if you want, it can make you whiter if you like and you can even change the color and style of you hair if you like it.
My husband a graphic artist, did a Photoshopped picture of me 10 years ago and I love how I looked there and it’s so fun to see the pictures.
There are a lot of issues regarding celebrities being photoshopped in magazines. I think the first major Photoshopped pictures that I have heard was the Angelica Panganiban photos for a sexy magazine and calendar. Here are some that I found on the net.
Another celebrity that allegedly thought of being photoshopped is Ms. Sharon Cuneta for the Marie France ads of last year. The photographer confessed that he did not made any major changes in the picture and that he just used his photography skills to make the picture nicer. more pictures here
Now at the start of the year, Mega Magazine surprised us with a new look of Ms. Jinkee Pacquiao that critics also said of being heavily photoshopped.
When I saw it, I thought that it was Kristine Hermosa. She really looks classy in this picture. I last saw her on TV when Manny Pacquaio fought Marquez last November 2011 and this is what she looks like that time.
I don’t know if she went under the knife to reach this new look, but I prefer her look on the cover of GoodHousekeeping last September 2011.
Preview Magazine also welcomes the year with Charice Pempengco on the cover. The picture, just like everyone else I have mentioned was criticized to be dramatically photoshopped. When I watched the behind the scenes video, the one thing I have noticed was the pimple below her eyes and the eyebag which was no longer visible in the cover, and I think is right to be removed for the magazine to be more appealing.
As a regular magazine reader and collector, I honestly don’t look much at the person in the magazine covers. I buy a magazine if the content interests me no matter who is the celebrity on it.
