Yesterday at Cafe 1771, Frabelle invited chefs, foodies, Medias and some bloggers to witness and be a part of the judging of the 1st Frabelle Foodie Chef search. Frabelle held a contest two months ago at their Facebook fan page inviting foodies everywhere to come up with unique recipes using Frabelle items including: Frabelle Yummy! Hotdogs and Yummy! Cheesedogs, Pork Ham Tocino, Longganiza Hamonado, Hickory Smoked Bacon, and Honey Ham. Out of the 50 plus contestants, they came up with the Top 5 that was presented during the event.

The criteria for judging were the following:
Uniqueness of the dish – 40%
Creativity using Frabelle food products – 30%
Aesthetic Appeal (Plating/Foodshot) – 15%
Facebook likes of the dish – 10%
The judging committee consists of Frabelle Food’s Chef and representatives and of course, Frabelle food endorser Senator Chiz Escudero.

And the one who won and became the 1st Frabelle Foodie Chef (and also the media and blogger’s choice winner) Ms. Neneth Tiongkiao Madrona.
She have won Php 20,000 cash and a 1 day Culinary class at the Center of Culinary Arts-Manila, while Php 5,000.00 was given to each of the other finalists.
I enjoyed all the food that was being served that day. We had a taste of all the entries and although I have voted for the Delish Muffin of Ms. Maridel Facleb (who also won the Chiz Escudero choice award), I am still glad that Ms. Neneth was the overall winner. (photos via Sam of thetummydiaries)
Frabelle was so generous to give out all attendees some samples of their products inside a Styrofoam cooler.
