Role play and dress-up are two popular games that little girls love to play. Some may have outgrown the joy of dress-up play but the little girl in me is always there to bring out the fun in dressing-up. With themed parties and events that often come up nowadays, there are plenty of dress-up opportunities for us to take advantage of.
Getting ready for an event that requires you to come in costumes or dressed according to the theme may take some time and effort depending on the size of your wardrobe. There are themes that require elaborate costumes while others simply require some accessories or modifications of your day to day attire. For instance, fantasy themed parties may require clothes that have to be tailored for you while period themed parties from 60’s, 70’s or 80’s allow you to use your existing wardrobe with a bit of modification and accessorizing. Cosplay parties are probably the most elaborate ones which definitely requires made to order outfits. Cosplay artists who frequent such events spend months of planning, designing and making their costumes.
Even though I love to dress-up for such occasions, my practical personality prevents me from splurging on pieces that I won’t be able to use again and reins in my buying impulses. My fashionista friend may have no qualms about ordering HacTac jodhpurs from Equestrian Clearance and other accessories to complete her riding costume, but I would rather check my closet first for outfit possibilities before hitting the shops. After all, the fun in dressing-up is in the exploration of your look possibilities.
