Last week, hubby and I had a day-off together. We took the chance to bring our very vintage Canon DSLR that has a broken battery cage to the Canon Service Center at Paseo de Magallanes.
If you don’t know where this place is, here is a guide to get you there.
From Edsa-Taft: ride a jeep going to Sucat/Alabang and tell the driver to get you off at Paseo de Magallanes
From MRT: get off at Magallanes MRT station then ride a bus going to Sucat/Alabang then tell the conductor to get you off at Paseo de Magallanes
The Canon Service Center is located at the 3rd floor of Soutpark Plaza building at Paseo de Magallanes (beside Racks). The guard will ask you to leave your ID upon entering the building for security purposes.
What I like about the Canon Service Center is that they have very friendly staffs they are ready to assist you with everything that you need. Almost all of Canon’s latest models of cameras, accessories and printers are on display there. The area is also very clean and cozy.
When we were finally entertained , the customer representative took the unit inside to be checked by their technician. Our Canon Camera is so outdated, we were so worried that there will be no more parts available for it, but we were glad that when she came back, she told us that there are still available parts for it. What a relief!!
The bad news is that the battery cage replacement cost is quite pricey. It cost us P2, 750 plus P250 for the consultation fee. Oh well, we can’t afford yet to buy a brand new DSLR, so as of now, our only choice is to let it be fixed at the Service Center.
Here is a proof that my husband did not hesitate to sign it. We just need to wait for 14 days for it to be finished.
I am excited to play with it again.

My CANON Powershot point and shoot camera seems to have a problem. Will they accept it without the official receipt, it was way way back when I bought it.
