How to Get Great Skin

by Levy on June 19, 2012

One thing that many people are always striving to achieve is great skin. Often, this is not only the key to looking great without any make up on, but it can also ensure that any make up you do wear looks fabulous too. Although different skin types can require different care in order to look great, there are a few things which can be beneficial to bear in mind, whatever type of skin you may have.

One of the most important things to do is to establish a regular skincare routine. This should involve cleansing, toning and moisturising, as well as exfoliating weekly to help remove any dead skin cells. In addition, it is usually a good idea to regularly apply a face masque treatment. Although this can take a little longer (face masques usually need to be left on for around 15 minutes), it’s easy to apply and then relax with a good book or a game of CheekyBingo until you are ready to wash the masque off. This can be well worth making the time to do if you want to have skin which looks healthy and glows. However, even if you have problem skin, it is often good to be weary of using strong products which may cause further irritation.

One of the best ways to get great skin is to eat healthily. Your diet can have a real impact on your skin, and meals which are full of fresh green vegetables and proteins can help to make sure that skin stays looking great. In addition, it can be a good idea to avoid consuming too much sugar, which can lead to breakouts. Drinking lots of water can be a good way to flush out any toxins and to keep skin looking fresh and fully hydrated.

At the same time, you should avoid transferring touching your skin throughout the day, as this can encourage the spread of bacteria. Learn what type of skin you have (oily, dry, combination etc) and use skin products which will help to combat specific problems which you may suffer from. Following all these points can help to make sure that you always have great skin.

I agree with all of your points except the one about the toner. Most people do not need toner, especially if you use a mild cleanser. Toner was originally used to balance out the high levels of chemicals in cleansers…but now that they are milder, toners are generally too harsh for most skin, especially if they contain alcohol.
